“My artwork is inspired by a love of architecture, the Impressionists, crazy quilts and the sublime landscape. I abstract these landscapes into glass and assemble them as if seen through a fractured lens.”

- JAG

Josephine A. Geiger

With a background in architecture, Josephine A. Geiger creates leaded stained glass art, continually challenging herself to push the envelope of design by incorporating unusual materials.  Copper, screen mesh or unique, custom kiln-formed glass increases depth and texture while adding an element of surprise. Her signature, JAG, written in copper and fused between layers of glass, is incorporated into the artwork; sometimes hidden, and other times as an accent to the composition, guaranteeing authenticity.

The stained glass panels I create generate copious amounts of scrap glass – which is wasteful to simply throw away in the trash. I have always recycled this scrap by finding mosaic artists in need, donating them for school art projects, as well as finding uses within my own studio and creative exploration.
