Finished cutting boards are oiled with several coats of mineral oil which is available at grocery stores.
Wipe a coat on occasionally and it will last for many years. If your board gets rough over the years, you can give it a light sanding with 200 grit sand paper, and re-oil it.

These boards are not recommended for raw meats. To clean your cutting board, wipe with a damp sponge, and wipe dry. There is no need to immerse your board in water, and soaking it may cause damage. Do not microwave.
